Our school district has gone cheap on us. In the bathroom, we have those dispensers that have that huge roll of toilet paper that weighs a ton. Recently our trusty brand of sandpaper on a roll was replaced by the world's thinnest sandpaper that can be produced.
I pull on the end, only to have it immediately break off in a piece too short to be useful. I then stick my big hand up in the dispenser and attempt to get it close enough to the roll to attempt some sort of finger walk in an effort to move the roll enough to find the end. Once I find the end I pull ever so gently, but often find I have to repeat this process several times.
*SIGH*
Sometimes I just stand outside the bathroom for a moment or two and debate whether it's even worth the effort.
If I AM having a hard time reaching for a reasonable piece of TP, imagine what my students are going through!!!?? My plight to teach has just been made more difficult...I have students with poop germs all over their hands! UGH!
